Just 10 more days and it is Christmas! This year I want to style my Christmas table with minimal Christmas decoration, but still get a real Christmas feeling. So I’ve tested it this week.
When I saw the Serax tableware collection by Piet Boon, Pascale Naessens and Chris Mestdagh, I knew that that is exactly what I was looking for. Minimal design, nice textures, high quality and beautiful material combinations.
So I went for the glasses and carafe made out of a combination of glass and brass. So simple but so beautiful and elegant and bold at the same time! The design is by Niels Datema.
Combined with the minimal white Chinese porcelain plates and bowls called “Base” by Piet Boon, and some anthracite ribbed low serving plates by Chris Mestdagh, the table already looks great. There is not much more needed.
I added the black plates by Pascale Naessens to create a more moody look, together with my all time favorite black linen table cloth, which I own for many years now.
For the cutlery, I spray painted some old cutlery of my mother in gold and mat black. Of course you can’t use this anymore for dinner. If you like to use some real gold or brass cutlery, you buy that too.
To add the real Christmas feeling, I used a few twigs and leafs that I spray-painted gold. I used them for the plate decorations and to spread on the table, together with some small golden Christmas balls.
I’m very pleased with it!

kerst TAFEL STYLING
MET SARAX
PIET BOON | PASCALE NAESSENS
in MESSING + ZWART + WIT
Nog maar 10 dagen en het is het kerst! Dit jaar wilde ik mijn kersttafel stylen met minimalistische kerstversiering, maar nog steeds wel met een echt kerstgevoel. Ik ben het deze week gaan uitproberen.
Toen ik de Serax servies collectie van oa Piet Boon, Pascale Naessens en Chris Mestdagh zag, wist ik: dat is precies wat ik zoek. Minimalistisch design, mooie texturen, hoge kwaliteit en mooie materiaal combinaties.
Dus ging ik voor de glazen en het karaf, bestaand uit een combinatie van glas en messing. Zo simpel maar zo mooi en elegant en stoer tegelijkertijd ! Dit ontwerp is van Niels Datema.
Ik combineer het met de minimalistische witte borden en schalen van Chinese porseleinen ” Base” van Piet Boon, en een paar antraciet geribbelde lage serveer borden, ontworpen door Chris Mestdagh.
De gedekte tafel ziet er nu al geweldig. Er is niet echt veel meer nodig! Met de zwarte borden met prachtig metallic uitstraling van Pascale Naessens erbij, samen met mijn all time favoriete zwarte linnen tafelkleed, creeer ik een meer donker “Moody Look” . Dat doet me een beetje denken aan de schilderijen van Vermeer.
Voor het bestek, heb ik wat oude bestek van mijn moeder in goud en mat zwart gespoten. Natuurlijk kun je dit nu niet meer gebruiken voor het diner. Dus als je graag een echt goud, messing of zwart bestek wilt gebruiken, kan je dat natuurlijk ook aanschaffen.
Om er nog het extra kerst gevoel aan toe te voegen, heb ik een paar takjes en blaadjes goud gespoten. Ik gebruik de takjes en blaadjes voor de bord decoraties en om over de tafel te verspreiden, samen met wat kleine gouden kerstballen.
Ik ben er super blij mee!
