The graduated students of the Trend Academy are presenting their trend reports and it’s not about the next color or fabric!
Like Chantal van der Nat. She talks about “Possessions as a ballast” and shows us how we are moving from “owning to using” in the interior industry. Based on inspiring examples, she shows how these values can be translated into opportunities for the interior design industry. Very interesting!
Or the presentation “Bodywatching” by Nora Vrba who shows in stunning and occasionally shocking images the story of the individualization of the naked body. Don’t want to miss that! You get an insight of the bigger trends, social movements and zeitgeist.

“People communicate all through the centuries with their bodies. Clothing, body decoration and attitude play an important role and have always been a source of beautiful images. The presentation ‘Body Watching’ gives an impression of ways in which we interact in the 21st century with our bodies. How we look back to the history and other cultures. And the possibilities offered by our technology will in the near future. How feasible is actually our body? And we decide in the future at component level what we look like? In stunning and occasionally shocking images presentation tells the story of the individualization of the naked body.”

We hebben altijd al dingen geleend, gedeeld en geruild. Vooral met familie, vrienden en directe buren. Technologie heeft het mogelijk gemaakt dat we bezit nu ook via (online) platformen met volstrekt vreemden kunnen delen. Op steeds meer vlakken zie je dan ook deelinitiatieven ontstaan. In de presentatie ‘Bezit als ballast’ herleidt Chantal van der Nat deze initiatieven tot de achterliggende waarden. Vervolgens maakt ze aan de hand van inspirerende voorbeelden duidelijk hoe deze waarden zich laten vertalen naar kansen voor de interieurbranche.
