Have you heard of The Loft Amsterdam before? It’s a great interior concept by Floris Koch, Kassandra Schreuder and Maarten van Huijstee. In a big, light and beautiful space in an old building in the center of Amsterdam this team curates a complete interior as if there actually lives someone. Someone with good taste! And keep your eyes and ears open: The Loft is only for a short time: 22 August 2015 – 6 September 2015. 

It’s is really one of the best interior events I’ve seen. Not only the team picked out such unique and special items, also the styling is perfect. That’s what makes it so personal. For some a bit too personal, since people hesitate to actually pick up and buy the items they love. But please do: all items at The Loft are for sale. You can take most of them directly home with you. And if you’re not able to visit the loft in person, you can always order online at The Loft Shop

 

My personal favorites of The Loft summer 2015 are

  • The many many books…. I’m a real book addict….
  • the stunning marble and green kitchen with blue steel wall by Eginstill, Dornbracht and Gaggenau
  • the leather pillows and magazine baskets by Philomijn
  • the leather strapped sofa by Stephen Kenn

I just came back from Milan Salone del Mobile and visited the Milan City events as well. The new, young and upcoming designers were mostly at Ventura Lambrate where I saw a lot of new and nice items, concepts and ideas.
For a lot of these designers it’s hard to find a distributor or shop to sell their, often in small numbers produced, items. But Crowdy House has created this platform with an online shop where you can buy the products directly from the designers. So this works well in both ways! I wrote a blog post a while ago about the ELKEBANA floral wall trophy, but there is so much more!
For the Salone Del Mobile Design Week event, Crowdy House created a special shop where you can find some of the selected items presented at Ventura Lambrate. You can find it at the special Crowdy House Collections Ventura-lambrate-2015 I made a selection with my favorite items below. Be quick: this selection is only available for a short time!

Ik ben net terug van Milaan Salone del Mobile en heb natuurlijk de events in de stad zelf ook bezocht. De jonge en opkomende ontwerpers waren vooral te vinden bij Ventura Lambrate  waar ik een heleboel nieuwe en leuke items, concepten en ideeën heb gespot.
 
Voor veel van deze ontwerpers is het moeilijk om een distributeur of winkel te vinden om hun producten, die vaak ik kleine oplage gemaakt worden, te verkopen.  Maar Crowdy House heeft een platform gemaakt met een online winkel waar de producten rechtstreeks bij de ontwerpers te koop zijn. Dit werkt goed in beide richtingen! Een tijdje geleden schreef ik al over de ELKEBANA floral wall trophy, maar er is zo veel meer!
 
Voor het Salone del Mobile Design Week evenement heeft Crowdy House een speciale shop gemaakt waar een aantal geselecteerde items die gepresenteerd werden op Ventura Lambrate te bestellen zijn. Deze zijn te vinden op de speciale Crowdy House Collectie Ventura-Lambrate-2015 shop.

Westwing loves Dutch Design and celebrates that every day 
by not only offer a stage for these seven Dutch Designers, 
but also with their own shop for this week.

In addition, the online magazine brings a glimpse 
into the creative mind and kitchen of the designers. 
Every day there will be a Dutch Designer in the spotlight, 
with the uniqueness that you can go to the shop of your choice to purchase the products!

they sell temporarily on the website.

De Dutch Design Week is al volop aan de gang. 
Het is een echte aanrader als je van Design houdt, 
dus mocht je nog geen plannen gemaakt hebben: Doe dit dan alsnog! 
De DDW14 is zo groot dat je het nooit in één dag helemaal kunt gaan zien, 
dan moet je keuzes maken, of toch meerdere dagen gaan.
De DDW is van 18-26 oktober 2014.


Gelukkig heeft Westwing zeven bijzondere Nederlandse ontwerpers uitgenodigd voor een interview, Dirk van der Kooij met zijn 3D geprint meubilair, FLINK met de hippe breisels voor in huis, Elke van den Berg [ ben ik groot fan van!]prachtig porselein, juweeltjes van sieraden van Petra Reijrink, betaalbare bulbs van BOOO, strakke opbergmogelijkheden van Strackk en tegels om je stopcontact te verhullen van Suit’d®.


Westwing loves Dutch Design en viert dat deze week mee door elke dag een andere Nederlandse ontwerper niet alleen een podium, maar ook eigen shop te bieden.

De ‘Westwing loves Dutch Design’ week begint op zondag 19 oktober op www.westwing.nl.
Daarnaast brengt het online magazine een kijkje in het creatieve brein en de keuken van de ontwerpers. Elke dag zal er een Dutch Designer in de schijnwerpers staan, met als unicum dat je meteen door kunt gaan naar de shop van je keuze om de producten aan te schaffen.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK….
Mette te Velde and Ikenna Azuike were inspired by the green movement whilst living in New York. They decided to take New York’s optimism, creativity and green solutions back to their home in Amsterdam. In December 2008 they set up Strawberry Earth, a blog for creative people who care about the planet. Their focus on sustainable design, fashion and film quickly became popular among young creatives and led to various Strawberry events.
