Who would have thought that? Rattan is the HOT trend for your furniture in and outdoor this summer! I spotted some Rattan and other natural grasses and materials like coconut and seagrass a while ago, but was a bit sceptic if it would be picked up… But Boy IKEA did! This nice new Limited Edition collection NIPPRIG designed by Nike Carlsson is handmade in Vietnam and Indonesia.

Take a look yourself ! I’m sure you’ll be surprised by the beautiful items ! I’m curious if you changed your mind too about the Rattan furniture :-)

The NIPPRIG ikea collection contains a lamp, chair, floor cushion, room divider, baskets, boxes, a hat, beach bag, broom, rug / carpet, plant pot, lounge chair, footstool, and a side table.

DE nieuwe interieur en buiten meubel trend voor 2015 : Natuurlijke materialen als Rotan, kokos en zeegras meubelen van IKEA

Wie had dat ooit gedacht ? Rotan is de HOT trend voor meubels in huis en voor buiten in de tuin deze zomer! Een tijdje geleden spotte ik deze trend van rotan en andere natuurlijke grassen en materialen zoals kokos en zeegras al, maar was een beetje sceptisch of het zouden worden opgepikt … Maar wouw wat heeft IKEA dag gedaan! Deze mooie nieuwe “Limited Edition” collectie NIPPRIG ontworpen door Nike Carlsson is handgemaakt in Vietnam en Indonesië.

Kijk maar zelf eens! Ik weet zeker dat je verrast wordt door de prachtige artikelen! Ik ben benieuwd of jij nu ook van gedachten bent veranderd over de rotan meubels :-)

De NIPPRIG ikea collectie bevat een lamp, stoel, vloer kussen, scheidingswand, manden, dozen, een hoed, strand zak, bezem, kleed / tapijt, planten pot, lounge stoel, voetenbankje, en een bijzettafel.

Softness, texture, tactile, touch, feel, relax, wood, shades of soft greens, blues and greys and a small touch of the trendcolors of 2015 : Reddish brown Marsala [Pantone] and Copper Orange [ Colour Futures ]

That’s what I saw at the Piet Boon presentation in Milan Designweek 2015 Zona Tortona.

Big chairs, xl sofa’s and coffee tables covered with a big box of glass [great for styling!!] or with marble tops, and a new cast aluminium side table “Klink”.

Beautiful fabrics, textiles and plaids, a mixture of materials and carpets with a touch of gleam and lots of “life” in it… Soft tones of colours are giving the rooms a relaxed and quite but also rich feeling.

Combined with the pure and personal interior accessoires and styling by Karin Meyn en John Biesheuvel, it makes this a place where you come to yourself, unwind and recharge after a bussy day …

Zachtheid, textuur, tactiliteit aanraken, voelen, ontspannen, hout, tinten van zacht groen, blauw en grijs en een hint van de trend kleuren van 2015: het roodbruine Marsala [Pantone] en Copper Orange [Colour Futures]

Dat is wat ik zag tijdens de Piet Boon presentatie in Milaan Designweek 2015 Zona Tortona.

Grote stoelen, xl sofa’s en salontafels bedekt met een grote box van glas [prachtig voor styling !!] of met marmeren bladen en: een nieuw bijzettafeltje “Klink” van gegoten aluminium.

Mooie stoffen, textiel en plaids, een mengsel van materialen en tapijten met een vleugje glans en veel “leven” in het materiaal … Zachte kleurtinten geven de kamers een ontspannen en rustig maar ook rijk gevoel.

In combinatie met de pure en persoonlijke interieur accessoires en styling van Karin Meyn en John Biesheuvel, maakt dit het een plek waar je weer tot jezelf komt komt en kunt ontspannen en opladen na een drukke dag …

A new collaboration between

Vitra, Prouvé and G-Star RAW

Designweek Milan 2015

A few days at the Milan Salone del Mobile Design week was enough to recharge me with new interior design inspiration. At the [originally Dutch fashion brand] G-Star store Milan Vitra presented this new Prouvé collection that is a crossover project between Vitra and G-Star RAW. In 2011 they worked together for a limited edition of Prouvé -Gstar furniture and they did it again: the Prouvé RAW Office Edition.

The collection revives a series of fauteuils, bureaus, a table and lamps, originally designed by Jean Prouvé in the 1940s. The industrial green colours are developed in collaboration with the art directors at G-Star.

Made out of steel and solid wood these contemporary pieces with leather upholstery give you the authentic industrial feeling.
I love the firm lines, do you?

The special edition collection will be available until the end of 2016.

Ik houd er van als een plan werkt!

Een nieuwe samenwerking tussen

Vitra, Prouvé en G-Star RAW

Designweek Milaan 2015

Een paar dagen op de Milaneese Salone Del Mobile Design week was genoeg om mij weer helemaal op te laden met nieuwe interieur en design inspiratie. In de [van oorsprong Nederlands modemerk] G-Star winkel in Milaan werd deze nieuwe crossover VITRA Prouvé G-Star RAW collectie gepresenteerd.

In 2011 werkten zij al samen en brachten een gelimiteerde collectie meubelen uit en nu presteren ze het weer: de Prouvé RAW Office Edition.

De collectie laat een reeks fauteuils, bureaus, een tafel en lampen herleven die oorspronkelijk in 1940 door Jean Prouvé zijn ontworpen. De industriële groene kleuren zijn ontwikkeld in samenwerking met de art directors van G-Star. De van staal en massief hout gemaakte en met oa leer bekleedde moderne stukken geven een heel authentiek en industrieel gevoel. Ik houd van de strakke stoere lijnen… en jij?

De special edition collection is verkrijgbaar tot het eind van 2016.

On my way out of Milan after the Design Week

I stumbled upon this presentation of the new textile dessins by the Dutch design duo

Scholten & Baijings.

I’m glad I spotted this on the last minute…

The new dessins “lines grids and blocks” transform select furniture

pieces from the Herman Miller Collection like the Wireframe Sofa by

Sam Hecht and Kim Colin, Brabo Club Chair by Vincent Van Duysen,

Tuxedo Bench by BassamFellows, and a selection of classic Ward Bennett seating.

The textiles have a 838cm long repeats that allow unique characteristics to emerge with each application.

You can recognise the designers handwriting and use of color immediately.
