Last week I joined the Xmas event at Piet Boon Studio. It’s always a pleasure to visit their showroom. Is so calming and of a very high quality. The showroom was styled with beautiful designs, made out of nice textured materials in ton-sur-ton colors. This year the studio shows a bit more of it’s feminine side: round forms, soft colors and lot’s of textile, but still in the recognizable Piet Boon Style.
Also the Piet Boon Kitchen showroom was opened and styled for Christmas. A few tables were set, inspired by the Old Dutch Masters and Golden Ages. I loved it! Unfortunately, I didn’t bring my camera, so I only can show you these snapshots made with my Iphone. But still I thought these are worth sharing with you.

PIET BOON STUDIO
Vorige week was ik bij het kerst event bij Piet Boon Studio. Het is altijd een genot om hun showroom te bezoeken. Zo rustgevend en van een zeer hoge kwaliteit. De showroom is ingericht met prachtige ontwerpen, gemaakt van fijne materialen in mooie texturen en in ton-sur-ton kleuren. Dit jaar laat de studio een beetje meer van zijn vrouwelijke kant zien: rondere vormen, zachte kleuren en veel textiel, maar nog steeds in de herkenbare Piet Boon Stijl.
Ook de Piet Boon keuken showroom was geopend en gestyled voor Kerstmis. Er stonden een aantal gedekte tafels, geïnspireerd door de oude Dutch Masters en de Gouden Eeuw. Ik vond het geweldig! Helaas had ik niet mijn camera bij me, dus ik kan alleen deze “snapshots’ laten zien, met mijn Iphone. Maar ik vond ze toch de moeite waard ze te delen met jullie.
fonQ Xmas design presents selection by C-More | Puik Art
I’m freekin’-out! It’s less than 4 weeks before Christmas arrives and even less days until “Sinterklaas” , a Dutch holiday [originally for kids] where family and friends get together for presents and lot’s of “Pepernoten”.
Luckily fonQ.nl invited me over for their Bloggers event at the temporary Pop-Up shop located at the Sarphatiepark in Amsterdam. fonQ is an online shop for interior and lifestyle items, who also have a good design collection. Big names like Vitra, Muuto, Hay, but also some smaller designers are presented. For example, you can find designs by Frederik Roije and Puik Art. What a relieve… At the Pop-up shop which will be opened from 28 November until 24 December 2016, there are lot’s of nice presents to find for him, her, the kids, friends and family. And it’s a good wishlist inspiration for yourself!
I’ve made a selection of 20 design presents below € 50,00, that will make a design lover very happy. But there is so much more to find at fonQ!

Gelukkig nodigde fonQ.nl me uit voor hun Bloggers event in de tijdelijke pop-up winkel gelegen aan de Sarphatiepark in Amsterdam. fonQ is een online shop voor interieur en lifestyle items, die ook een goede design collectie verkoopt. Grote namen als Vitra, Muuto, Hay, maar ook een aantal kleinere ontwerpers worden gepresenteerd. Bijvoorbeeld de items van Frederik Roijé en Puik Art zijn er te vinden. Wat een opluchting …
In de Pop-Up shop, die van 28 november tot en met 24 december 2016 geopend is, zijn veel van die leuke cadeautjes voor hem, haar, de kinderen, vrienden en familie te vinden. En het is zeker ook een goede wishlist inspiratie voor jezelf!
Ik heb 20 design en lifestyle cadeautjes onder de € 50,00, geselecteerd, waar elke designliefhebber gelukkig van zal worden. Maar er is nog veel meer te vinden in Fonq.

My heart alway skips a beat when my eye catches a beautiful of interesting fabric. Same with colors. It makes me happy. That’s exactly what happened when I was invited by Kvadrat Amsterdam to join the launch of the new Kvadrat | Raf Simons collection. I was honored to be part of it.
Kvadrat designs and makes the most beautiful textiles for interior, furniture and accessories and is my favorite company to work with. The Danish roots are founded in 1968. Since then Kvadrat worked with several architects and designers like Tord Boontje, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Patricia Urquiola and many more. And now, since 2014, also with fashion designer Raf Simons. You can’t make me more happy, with these kind of collaborations.
Raf Simons, born in Belgium, studied industrial design in Genk. He moved to Antwerp, inspired by the work of conceptual fashion designer Martin Margiela, to study Fashion at the Royal Academy of Antwerp, but was encouraged to start his own label right way in 1995. Luckily he did: Raf Simons menswear had huge impact on the style of the decade.
After being the artistic director of the Jil Sander label since 2005, Raf became the creative director for Dior Women. He is now concentrating on his own label and, since this Augustus, joined Calvin Klein as creative director. Raf Simons is a passionate collector of contemporary art and modern design and is known for his vital, sophisticated modernism.
Raf Simons has applied his Kvadrat upholstery designs for the first time in 2014 for his own menswear collection which he designed in collaboration with artist Sterling Ruby. After that time, he designed several fabrics for Kvadrat and showed it in a few fashion collections he did for Dior. So, that’s enough information for now I think! Just go wander around in the pictures below, where you will find the newest Raf Simons | Kvadrat collection, inspired by the modern nautical upholstery of Franco Albini’s suspended Poltrona Seggiovia (Chairlift Chair) of 1940, which resulted in 3 textile collections: Reflex, Pulsar and Fuse. I find the collection very refreshing, with a hint of the history of the early modernists in it. Very graphic and with beautiful colors. The collection is distributed by selected dealers. Suitable for furniture upholstery, contemporary fashion designs and also available as a beautiful pillow collection.
Mijn hart gaat altijd sneller kloppen als ik mooie of interessante stoffen zie. Het zelfde heb ik met kleuren cobinaties. Het maakt me blij. Dat is precies wat er gebeurde toen ik door Kvadrat Amsterdam werd uitgenodigd om de lancering van de nieuwe Kvadrat | Raf Simons collectie mocht bijwonen. Ik was zeer vereerd om er bij te zijn.
Kvadrat ontwerpt en maakt de mooiste stoffen voor interieur, meubels en accessoires en is mijn favoriete bedrijf om mee te werken. De Deense “roots” stammen al uit 1968. Sindsdien heeft Kvadrat samen gewerkt en collecties ontwikkeld met vele architecten en ontwerpers als Tord Boontje, Ronan en Erwan Bouroullec, Patricia Urquiola en nog velen meer. En nu, sinds 2014, ook met modeontwerper Raf Simons. Je kunt mij niet meer gelukkig maken, dan met dit soort samenwerkingen.

The Vertical Bench is the smaller version of the previously produced “daybed”. This beautiful small version is made of natural oak and soft brown leather. Hand-made connections in the wood show the quality of this beautiful piece of furniture. A nice piece of timber-framed mastership, pure and beautiful. Simple with an edge!
The Bookkeeper is made of steel, available in black and white. A wonderful product for your beautiful book collection. The minimalist design combined with the sturdy steel, without losing it’s functionality, makes this piece a must-have!

De Vertical Bench is de kleinere versie van de reeds eerder geproduceerde daybed. Deze mooie kleine versie is gemaakt van naturel eiken en zacht bruin leer. De handgemaakte verbindingen in het hout laten de kwaliteit van dit prachtige meubel zien. Een prachtig stukje vakwerk dat doordacht, zuiver en mooi is. Simpel mét een randje!
De boekenstandaard Bookkeeper is gemaakt van staal, verkrijgbaar in zwart en wit. Een mooi en grafisch product om je verzameling boeken te presenteren. Door het minimalistische design in combinatie met het stoere staal, zonder de functionaliteit te verliezen, is dit voor mij een aanrader.

It’s that time of the year again. Days get shorter and evenings are getting longer. A good moment to focus on your indoor lighting.
Visiting the Dutch “VTWonen Design beurs” a yearly interior design fair by vtwonen.nl, I was drawn to the Eikelenboom booth. Eikelenboom is a Dutch brand with lighting fixtures of their own and by a few other international Design brands.
What I discovered were several beautiful graphic lighting fixtures, that I love to share with you. I think such beautiful pieces like the chandeliers, can really upgrade your interior when used as an eye catcher. The minimal reading and table lights are subtly present. But my ultimate favorite one is the Pin wall lighting fixture by Vibia. Definitely on my wishlist!

Verlichting liefde
Het is weer de tijd van het jaar: Dagen worden korter en de avonden steeds langer. Een goed moment om je te concentreren op de binnen verlichting.
Tijdens mijn bezoek aan de VTWonen Design beurs van vtwonen.nl, werd mijn oog getrokken naar de stand van Eikelenboom. Eikelenboom is een Nederlands merk met verlichting van eigen bodem en van een aantal internationale merken.
Wat ik daar ontdekte waren verschillend prachtige grafische verlichtingsarmaturen, die ik graag met jullie wil delen. Ik denk dat zulke mooie items zoals de kroonluchters, je interieur echt kunnen upgraden als het als een eyecather wordt toegepast. De minimalistische lees- en tafellampen zijn juist weer heel subtiel aanwezig. Maar mijn ultime favoriet is de Pin wandlamp van Vibia. Die staat bovenaan mijn verlanglijstje!
