Enlightened Design | Elle festival 2014
It has been 2 months since I visited Dutch Elle festival, see my post about the Elle pavilion, and I still have tons of pictures of the exhibitions, installations and different design I saw during the two days I hopped from location to location. One of the exhibitions I visited was ‘ Enlightened design’ showcasing the work of thirteen design studio’s and an initiative of Connecting the Dots, supported by Doen, a foundation that supports initiatives for a green, creative and caring society.
I met the guys from Connecting the Dots last year in Milan, where we spent some time at Fuori Mercato, where me and my friend stayed during the Salone. It was also at the latest edition of the International Design week in Milan where Connecting the Dots noticed the attention to the ethical dimension as well as the social and environmental consequences of design products.
“It is notable that sustainable design is not necessarily packaged in a clever marketing story. Man and nature are simply, more than ever, at the center of things and have now become an integral part of the design” A small selection of pictures by Ilco Kemmere, more pictures can be found here.

This modern home in Melbourne, Australia, is designed and built by Altereco. The design is simple with clean lines, an open plan layout and a sober color palette. But simple does not have a negative connotation here. With simple means beautiful and stylish!

I spend some time with Blogfriend Anya [Anya Adores blog] who I’ve met at Blogtour NYC 2014, saw lots of beautiful Scandinavian design and got really inspired. I also met a few really nice and beautiful brands and I will share them the coming weeks here on my blog.
Muuto invited me on behalf of Deja Vu to their showroom
and I’m so happy they did.
Besides my own interior design company C-More interior design, I also work as an interior designer at a Design Shop in Nijmegen NL. The shop is called Deja Vu and we sell many high quality interior design brands and also give interior design advise to our costumers. One of the brands we sell for some time now is Muuto. I introduced the brand myself and am very glad we have it in store. So I was very pleased to be invited to the showroom and the fair to see the Muuto concept and all the new products. It was the first time for me to visit Copenhagen, so this visit worked out really well.
I especially love the new Soft Blocks sofa, the Elevated Vase,
the Stacked shelf system and the Restore storage basket.
But they also introduced some great new products,
like the balance vase set and the marble coasters.
Take a look at the Muuto products I selected.
I took a lot of photo’s myself, but Muuto also has some very inspiring lifestyle pictures, so I threw some more of them in at the bottom of this post!

Het was super leuk om blogvriendin Anya [Anya Adores blog] die ik heb ontmoet tijdens Blogtour NYC 2014,weer te zien. Op de beurs was veel mooi Scandinavisch design te vinden en ik raakte echt geïnspireerd. Ik ontmoette ook een aantal hele leuke en mooie merken waarvan ik de komende weken hier op mijn blog het eea ga laten zien.
De eerste blogpost is over Muuto.
Muuto nodigde me namens Deja Vu uit hun showroom en de beurs te bezoeken
en ik ben zo blij dat ze dat hebben gedaan.
Naast mijn eigen interieur design bedrijf C-More interieur, werk ik ook als interieur ontwerper bij een Design Shop in Nijmegen NL. De winkel heet Deja Vu en we verkopen veel kwalitatief hoogwaardige interieur design merken. Ik ontwerp en geef interieur advies aan onze klanten. Een van de merken die wij al enige tijd verkopen is Muuto. Ik heb het merk zelf voorgesteld en ben erg blij dat we het in huis hebben. Dus was het fantastisch om te worden uitgenodigd voor een bezoek aan de showroom om het complete Muuto concept en alle nieuwe producten te zien. Het was de eerste keer voor mij om Kopenhagen te bezoeken, dus dit bezoek werkte heel goed uit.
De nieuwe Soft Blocks sofa, the Elevated Vase,
the Stacked shelf system en the Restore storage basket zijn mijn favorieten to nu toe.
Maar ze introduceerden ook een aantal geweldige nieuwe producten, zoals de balance vase set en de marmeren onderzetters.
Neem een kijkje bij de Muuto producten die ik geselecteerd.
De eerste foto’s heb ik zelf genomen, maar Muuto heeft ook een aantal zeer inspirerende lifestyle foto’s in de nieuwe catalogus staan, dus ik heb daar onder ook een aantal van hen geplaatst.

The Loft by The Playing Circle Amsterdam | By C-More
Last weekend I visited The Loft by The Playing Circles in Amsterdam and I couldn’t stop taking pictures! I love this space.
It’s a loft located at “De Prinsengracht” with a very high ceiling and one open space. Normally you can rent this space for meetings and congresses, but for a period of one month this appartement is furnished with some very nice hand picked items.
I find this apparent very masculine but definitely not only for men. The items shown all have some character. Some because they’re aged, some because of the material or color choice. There are also a lot of great styling elements and art pieces.
And the good news is : everything is for sale!!
You can visit this loft yourself until the 15th of august. So if you are in Amsterdam: Don’t miss it! More info like opening hour on the Facebookpage of the Loft by The Playing Circle. This great styling job is done by Dominique ter Mors and Kassandra Schreuder.

en stoer en mannelijke interieur
Afgelopen weekend bezocht ik The Loft by The Playing Circles in Amsterdam en ik kon niet stoppen met het nemen van foto’s! Ik vind het er fantastisch!
Het is een loft liggend aan de Prinsengracht met een zeer hoog plafond en een compleet open ruimte. Normaal gesproken kun je deze ruimte huren voor vergaderingen en congressen. Voor de periode van een maand is dit appartement ingericht en gestyled met een aantal zeer mooie persoonlijk uitgezochte items.
Zelf vind ik het een zeer stoer en mannelijk interieur, maar zeker niet alleen voor mannen. Mij spreekt het heel erg aan. De getoonde items hebben allemaal karakter. Sommige omdat ze op leeftijd zijn, sommige vanwege het materiaal of kleur keuze. Ook zijn er super veel prachtige en bijzondere styling elementen en kunstwerken te bekijken. De loft is ingericht en gestyled door Dominique ter Mors en Kassandra Schreuder.
En het goede nieuws is: Alles is te koop!!
Je kunt nog tot 15 augustus een bezoek brengen aan deze prachtige loft. Dus als je in Amsterdam bent: Mis het niet!

Crowdyhouse is a new platform, an online marketplace, where independent professional designers in fashion, furniture and products, can showcase their items and you as a design lover can order it. If there are enough buyers, the designer produces the items and sends it to you.
I love the concept of this because it’s so hard for the designers to get their products in shops. Most of the time the shops want a consistency in production and not the small number the designers produce.
So I really hope Crowdyhouse is here to stay. I took a look around and already saw some nice items. I hope that soon there will be a lot more designers that join.
Als je een design liefhebber bent en onafhankelijk ontwerpers met een eigen studio omarmt, maar niet goed kan vinden waar je hun ontwerpen kunt kopen: Dan heb ik heb de ultieme tip voor je!
Crowdyhouse is een nieuw platform, een soort online marktplaats, waar onafhankelijke professionele mode, meubel en product ontwerpers hun items kunnen presenteren en jij deze kunt bestellen. Als er genoeg kopers zijn, dan kan de ontwerper de items gaan produceren en stuurt deze ze naar je op.
Ik hou van dit soort initiatieven, omdat het zo moeilijk is voor de ontwerpers om hun producten in de winkels te verkopen. Meestal willen de winkels een constante productie en niet de kleine oplage waarin de ontwerpers vaak produceren.
Dus ik hoop echt Crowdyhouse het antwoord daarop is. Ik nam alvast een kijkje en zag gelijk al een aantal leuke items. Ik hoop dat dat er binnenkort veel meer zullen gaan worden en dat er nog veel meer ontwerpers mee gaan doen.
