I just came back from Milan Salone del Mobile and visited the Milan City events as well. The new, young and upcoming designers were mostly at Ventura Lambrate where I saw a lot of new and nice items, concepts and ideas.
For a lot of these designers it’s hard to find a distributor or shop to sell their, often in small numbers produced, items. But Crowdy House has created this platform with an online shop where you can buy the products directly from the designers. So this works well in both ways! I wrote a blog post a while ago about the ELKEBANA floral wall trophy, but there is so much more!
For the Salone Del Mobile Design Week event, Crowdy House created a special shop where you can find some of the selected items presented at Ventura Lambrate. You can find it at the special Crowdy House Collections Ventura-lambrate-2015 I made a selection with my favorite items below. Be quick: this selection is only available for a short time!

Ik ben net terug van Milaan Salone del Mobile en heb natuurlijk de events in de stad zelf ook bezocht. De jonge en opkomende ontwerpers waren vooral te vinden bij Ventura Lambrate  waar ik een heleboel nieuwe en leuke items, concepten en ideeën heb gespot.
 
Voor veel van deze ontwerpers is het moeilijk om een distributeur of winkel te vinden om hun producten, die vaak ik kleine oplage gemaakt worden, te verkopen.  Maar Crowdy House heeft een platform gemaakt met een online winkel waar de producten rechtstreeks bij de ontwerpers te koop zijn. Dit werkt goed in beide richtingen! Een tijdje geleden schreef ik al over de ELKEBANA floral wall trophy, maar er is zo veel meer!
 
Voor het Salone del Mobile Design Week evenement heeft Crowdy House een speciale shop gemaakt waar een aantal geselecteerde items die gepresenteerd werden op Ventura Lambrate te bestellen zijn. Deze zijn te vinden op de speciale Crowdy House Collectie Ventura-Lambrate-2015 shop.

VT Wonen at the Woonbeurs | interior inspiration

VT Wonen at de woonbeurs
Hi there, it’s Louise from 30s Magazine again with another guest blog post. Because Iris couldn’t make it to the annual furniture & lifestyle fair ‘de Woonbeurs’ , I offered to report back from one of the highlights of the fair, the inspirational house by Dutch interior magazine VT Wonen. This year is the magazine’s 50th anniversary. The house showcased the latest trends and new designs. Moody blue, and a dark colour palette of shades of grey and burgundy accents paired with copper characterized the VT Wonen style this year. Their trompe d’oeuil wallpaper that mimics wood panels or tiles were the most striking features. To celebrate their anniversary they launched a collection of plates that were on display on the kitchen wall.

I’m so happy!! 
I’m invited to go on the blogtour to New York City 
with Modenus for five days to visit the NY Design Week 
with Wanted Design, ICFF and lot’s of design events in the city!
In only 2 weeks from now, from 15 until 20 May,
I’ll meet some fantastic people, the sponsors of the tour, be in my favorite town and see some amazing new design…. What can be more beautiful and perfect than this??  
I just had to pinch myself when I got the news  
and I’m still jumping up and down when I think about it.
This is a dream come true!

New York blogtour met Modenus  ICFF + Wanded Design



Wow, ik ben zo blij!!! 
Ik ben door Modenus uitgenodigd om 5 dagen mee op blogtour te gaan naar de designweek in New York en ICFF en Wanted design!


Van 15 to 20 mei ga ik een groepje fantastische mensen en de sponsors van deze tour ontmoeten, heel veel design zien en verblijf ik in mijn favoriete stad….. helemaal perfect toch?
Ik moest mezelf echt een paar keer in de arm knijpen om het te bevatten en spring nog steeds een gat in de lucht als ik er aan denk…
Er kom een hele grote droom van mij uit !


Natuurlijk ga ik over deze tour schrijven op mijn blog, op Facebook en deel ik alles op Pinterest, en via de site van Modenus NYC Blogtour.

What Design Can Do | WDCD 2014 Amsterdam.

Only a few days before the two day event 
What Design Can Do 2014 starts on 8 and 9 may!

I’m so looking forward to this!
Last year I joined for one day, this time I’ll try to be there for the two full days.
The event is all about how design and designers can “give back” to the world, by being conscious about what and how they design. To make the life of the people better, and how designers can contribute keeping this planet alive or even improve our world.
I think this development in the designers world is a good thing. I think that if you start at the very beginning of the designing process with one of the goals in your mind that whatever you design, it has to be not only about the form, beauty, color, shape or making profit, but also about what you can contribute to the wellbeing of this planet, you as a designer are doing much more than “just” designing.
The world needs people who think like this.
There are still tickets available 
So if you want to see and hear for yourself what design can do for you or your company, go get a WDCD ticket over here . Also for students it’s a very interesting event and you can get a special WDCD student discount ticket !!
There is a list of great speakers like fashion designer Paul Smith, a bunch of inspiring films, meet and greets and even a big party. For more information take a look at the website and take some time to plan your day. There’s so much to see, you better go prepared:-)

Nog een paar dagen en dan start het twee dagen durende event

WDCD | What Design Can Do !

op 8 en 9 mei
Ik kijk er erg naar uit.  Vorig jaar ben ik er een dag geweest en deze keer zal ik proberen om er alle twee de dagen bij te zijn. Het evenement  gaat  over hoe design en ontwerpers “terug kunnen geven” aan de wereld , door zich bewust  te zijn van wat en hoe ze ontwerpen. Om het leven van de mensen beter te maken en hoe ontwerpers kunnen bijdragen aan het behouden deze planeet en alles dat er op leeft of zelfs het verbeteren van onze wereld.


Ik ben erg voor deze ontwikkeling in de ontwerpers wereld. Ik denk dat als je aan het begin van het ontwerpproces al start met als een van de doelen in je achterhoofd dat wat je ontwerpt, niet alleen over de vorm, schoonheid, kleur, vorm of het maken van commerciële producten en winst moet gaan, maar ook over wat je kunt bijdragen aan het welzijn van deze planeet, dan ben je als ontwerper veel meer dan “alleen maar” aan het ontwerpen. De wereld heeft behoefte aan mensen die zo denken.


En er zijn nog kaarten beschikbaar!

Er is een lijst van grote sprekers als modeontwerper Paul Smith, een heleboel inspirerende films , ontmoetingen met grootheden en zelfs een Big party! Neem van te voren een ​​kijkje op de website want heet is slim om je dag vooraf een beetje te plannen. 
Er is zoveel te doen, je kunt je beter voorbereiden :-)

Deze keer OBJECT Rotterdam in het nieuwe gebouw ” De Rotterdam” 
waar ik onlangs in het nieuwe nhow hotel heb overnacht.
More design events! 
This time OBJECT Rotterdam in the new building ‘De Rotterdam’ 
 where I’ve stayed recently in the new nhow hotel for the opening weekend. 


OBJECT is de beurs voor eigentijds design en vindt gelijktijdig met Art Rotterdam plaats in De Rotterdam, het nieuwe gebouw van Rem Koolhaas. OBJECT toont unieke of in oplage geproduceerde objecten uit de wereld van actueel nationaal en internationaal ontwerp. De beurs presenteert limited editions en one-offs van nationale en internationale, gevestigde en upcoming designers, uit verschillende ontwerpdisciplines en in uiteenlopende materialen. OBJECT legt het snijvlak bloot tussen design, crafts, fashion, architectuur en beeldende kunst en is dé plek voor verzamelaars, professionals en andere design liefhebbers.

Deelnemers zijn oa Lizan Freijsen met nieuwe wand- en vloerkleden die fascineren dankzij de bijzondere vormen en materialen. Bij de Amerikaanse Industry Gallery presenteert Tejo Remy samen met René Veenhuizen nieuwe wandobjecten. Ontwerper Floris Wubben installeert een bijzondere machine waarmee hij vazen maakt die dankzij het materiaal waaruit zij geperst worden verschillen in vorm en structuur. Vormgever Lex Pott en curator Woes van Haaften lanceren tijdens de beurs het label ‘New Window’.
