Hectic eclectic procrastinator Interiorator | inspiration

Hectic eclectic procrastinator Interiorator
When Iris asked me to write a guest post on C-More a while ago, I jumped at the opportunity and decided to immediately do nothing for two weeks. Well, not really. You see, I can be a bit of a procrastinator – and so here I am now, offering my apologies to Iris for my tardiness before the eyes of everyone on the internet. The thing is, it’s fall – a season that to interior design professionals is as hectic as those final days before Christmas. Still hectic or not, here I am to tell you a bit about my blog. It’s called Interiorator and it’s just what the doctor ordered if you’re into eclectic, colorful and unusual design-y stuff. To get you in the mood, I’ve put together my top ten personal Interiorator favorites.
1 Maddnes
Let me start with a bang – the notorious Amsterdam-based designers Maddnes are my all-time design heroes. That giant blue head they designed is now the most eye-catching of eyecatchers in my living room.
2 Abigail Ahern
Hero number is Abigail Ahern. This enfant terrible of the interior design world taught me everything I needed to know to give my home a much-needed makeover. She also inspired me to paint out my walls and ceiling in dark blue! You can see the pictures I took at Abigail Ahern’s home right here.
3 My hallway
Well, here it is. Home! It took me forever to paint the hallway but the result looks quite fetching, doesn’t it? Here are the before pictures. Pretty shocking huh?
4 VTwonen
My home was featured in Dutch interior design magazine VTWonen earlier this year, quite an honor! You can see more pictures here.
5 Les Puces
I love Paris. I love vintage. And I love Rod Stewart.
Well, not really – but I did run into him when we were both shopping for
vintage design at Les Puces de Saint Ouen.
6 Designmuseum Gent
Another city I love is Ghent. The local Designmuseum has a formidable collection of Seventies and Eighties furniture – you should check it out some time!
7 Wanderlust
I usually think up my own interior design trends, thank you very much. That being said, I have to say I was quite impressed by this Wanderlust trend space at last summer’s Elle Festival in Amsterdam.
8 Farrow & Ball
I had a blast recently painting an old bar cart in orange
and then styling it for Farrow & Ball. You like?
9 Tropicana Rotterdam
Remember the old Tropicana subtropical swimming paradise in Rotterdam? It was abandoned about five years ago – which didn’t keep me from sneaking in a while ago to take these pictures.
10 Mickey Easterling
Sure, I make a lot of content myself for Interiorator. But once in a while, I also see something online that grabs my attention and practically forces me to write about it – like this all-pink apartment I once saw on the New York Social Diary website.
Anyhoo, I hope you enjoyed this little introduction. See you soon on Interiorator, okay? Buh-bye!
Almost all pictures by INTERIORATOR
Thank you so much Patrick!

Hotspot Six and Sons Conceptstore Amsterdam | inspiration

Hot spot: Six and Sons conceptstore

Hello, I’m Louise from the blog 30sMagazine and I offered Iris to help out and write her a guest blog post. You might remember me from a previous guest blog post I did: 5 design hot spots in Rotterdam. I love to shop and discover exclusive stores with an edgy design or exclusive products. One of those shops is Six and Sons, located in one of the most popular shopping streets of Amsterdam, the Haarlemmerdijk.
Six and Sons is like no other concept store because it is aimed towards men. Owner Alexander wanted to create a store where men would feel comfortable. It is a real manly men store with a rustic and raw interior. Bare brick walls, and distressed wood are the backdrop for all things industrial and vintage. It’s the perfect place to find accessories for a man cave or bachelor pad. You will see vintage boxing gloves, a Chesterfield sofa, grooming essentials, and camping gear. Anything from furniture, to clothing and accessories. For females there is something to look forward to as well: they sell Kinfolk Magazine!
Upstairs there is a brick and mortar cafe serving the best Bocca coffee, homemade pastries, and the famous hummingbird cake, a recipe by Kinfolk.
Enjoy!

Enlightened Design by Vosgesparis

What do you think of this? Desiree of Vosgesparis is such a nice person!
I’ve met her in person a few times now,
like on the day we visited Elle Festival in June.
And now she’s so kind to help me out with this re-post on my blog!
Since my father is ill I can’t spend the time on my blog that I normally do.
So this repost by Vosgesparis is truly a gift for me:

I can offer you, my loyal and new readers,

a nice piece to read and get you inspired!
So thank you Desiree!! See you soon I hope :-)
 And to my readers:
Enjoy!

Enlightened Design | Elle festival 2014

It has been 2 months since I visited Dutch Elle festival, see my post about the Elle pavilion, and I still have tons of pictures of the exhibitions, installations and different design I saw during the two days I hopped from location to location. One of the exhibitions I visited was ‘ Enlightened design’ showcasing the work of thirteen design studio’s and an initiative of Connecting the Dots, supported by Doen, a foundation that supports initiatives for a green, creative and caring society.

I met the guys from Connecting the Dots last year in Milan, where we spent some time at Fuori Mercato, where me and my friend stayed during the Salone. It was also at the latest edition of the International Design week in Milan where Connecting the Dots noticed the attention to the ethical dimension as well as the social and environmental consequences of design products.

“It is notable that sustainable design is not necessarily packaged in a clever marketing story. Man and nature are simply, more than ever, at the center of things and have now become an integral part of the design” A small selection of pictures by Ilco Kemmere, more pictures can be found here.

I thought the work of Floris Wubben was pretty impressive. I loved the raw character of the vases and how they look like sculptural objects See more of the pressed ceramic at the website Pressed Ceramic

Enlightened Design exhibitioners

Geniet!!

My favourite: the POV candleholder | Scandinavian design | Menu | Kopenhagen Design-trade | by C-More

During my visit to the Design Trade Copenhagen
I total fell for the design brand Menu.
I did know this brand, but mostly from the carafe.
But now I’ve fallen in love with all the beautiful
interior accessories they have.
This little black and dark wood side table stool” Flip around”
and the hexagon POV candleholder, the make-up and jewellery box,
the wooden table mirror, the marble with copper candleholder
and the storage stone jars with cork top:
they all go on my wish-list for christmas!
At the bottom some beautiful styled pictures from their new catalogue.
More to see or to find where to buy at menu.as
What is your favourite?
Enjoy!
