I just came back from Milan Salone del Mobile and visited the Milan City events as well. The new, young and upcoming designers were mostly at Ventura Lambrate where I saw a lot of new and nice items, concepts and ideas.
For a lot of these designers it’s hard to find a distributor or shop to sell their, often in small numbers produced, items. But Crowdy House has created this platform with an online shop where you can buy the products directly from the designers. So this works well in both ways! I wrote a blog post a while ago about the ELKEBANA floral wall trophy, but there is so much more!
For the Salone Del Mobile Design Week event, Crowdy House created a special shop where you can find some of the selected items presented at Ventura Lambrate. You can find it at the special Crowdy House Collections Ventura-lambrate-2015 I made a selection with my favorite items below. Be quick: this selection is only available for a short time!

Ik ben net terug van Milaan Salone del Mobile en heb natuurlijk de events in de stad zelf ook bezocht. De jonge en opkomende ontwerpers waren vooral te vinden bij Ventura Lambrate  waar ik een heleboel nieuwe en leuke items, concepten en ideeën heb gespot.
 
Voor veel van deze ontwerpers is het moeilijk om een distributeur of winkel te vinden om hun producten, die vaak ik kleine oplage gemaakt worden, te verkopen.  Maar Crowdy House heeft een platform gemaakt met een online winkel waar de producten rechtstreeks bij de ontwerpers te koop zijn. Dit werkt goed in beide richtingen! Een tijdje geleden schreef ik al over de ELKEBANA floral wall trophy, maar er is zo veel meer!
 
Voor het Salone del Mobile Design Week evenement heeft Crowdy House een speciale shop gemaakt waar een aantal geselecteerde items die gepresenteerd werden op Ventura Lambrate te bestellen zijn. Deze zijn te vinden op de speciale Crowdy House Collectie Ventura-Lambrate-2015 shop.

Berlin and The Hive

Berlin and The Hive

Just a quick post of my weekend at the Hive and visiting Berlin.
I had a super weekend at The Hive 15 and I must give Yvonne full credits of that! 
The Hive has grown a lot and I loved to be there. 
I learned quite a few things and met some really great people. 
 My personal favourite was the styling workshop by Dietlind Wolf:
She moves me every time I see her.
She talked about being authentic and respecting your work, 
finding your own style and: about recognising other peoples work 
by asking permission to use it and giving it the right credits.
So if you like her work and want to share it, 
please contact her first to ask permission. 
[ and that counts for sharing work from other photographers, 
stylists, bloggers and so on as well of course]

I also had the time for a really quick citytrip and went to Bikini Berlin and Mitte.

Berlijn en The Hive




Even een snelle post over mijn weekend bij the Hive en Berlijn.
Ik had een super weekend bij The Hive 15 en ik moet Yvonne de volledige credits daarvan geven !
The Hive is enorm gegroeid en ik vond het fantastisch om er bij te zijn.
Ik heb er weer heel wat dingen bij geleerd en een aantal hele leuke mensen ontmoet. 

Mijn persoonlijke favoriet was de styling workshop door Dietlind Wolf:
Ze raakt me elke keer als ik haar zie.
Ze sprak over authenticiteit en respect voor je werk, het vinden van je eigen stijl en: 
over de erkenning van andermans werk door eerst om toestemming te vragen voor het te gebruiken of delen daarvan en ook het geven van de juiste credits.
Dus als je wat van haar werk wilt delen, vraag haar dan eerst om toestemming.
[En dat telt dan natuurlijk ook voor het delen van het werk van andere fotografen, stylisten, bloggers enz enz]

Ik had ook de tijd voor een echt super snelle citytrip en ben naar Bikini Berlin en Mitte gegaan.

What’s this ” thing” with insects and leaves?
I’m so intrigued by these natural beauties. 
I guess I’m not the only one: 
The two photographers Mads Hagedorn-Olsen and Anders Morell of Hagedornhagen 
have collected, prepared and photographed selected types 
of beetles and butterflies and made a serie of beautiful Art-prints. 
When I visited the Design Trade Copenhagen last August, 
the prints caught my eye instantly. 
Due to the outstanding photography and print quality, 
the colours are fascinating and the insects almost seem alive. 
As they say:

The art prints have a look that conjures up visions of old silk screen prints with nature motives. They simply buzz with nostalgia and poetry. At the same time, the photographs express innovation and modernity due to their graphic simplicity and illustrative sharpness. The artprints will look good in modern homes, where furniture classics are mixed with vibrant vintage artefacts. They will also look fine with a drawing pin in each corner, fixed on the wall in the children’s bedroom.

What I like so much about it is that they add color and character to an interior.
You can look at it endlessly and always see something new.
Also: when you are not good with plants, you can still ad some greens in your home. 
My personal favourites are:
the glowing green beetle, the fascinating leaf insect and the serie” A Collection” 
a serie of two abstract cactus shape prints on water-colour paper.

Wat is toch dit “dingetje” met insecten en bladeren?
Ik ben al een tijdje helemaal geïntrigeerd door deze natuurlijke schoonheden. 
En ik ben niet de enige: de twee fotografen Mads Hagedorn-Olsen en Anders Morell van Hagedornhagen hebben een selectie van kevers en vlinders verzameld, geprepareerd en gefotografeerd en maakte daar een serie prachtige art prints van. 

Toen ik de Design Trade in Kopenhagen vorig jaar augustus bezocht, viel mijn oog meteen op deze printen. Ze zijn van een super mooie kwaliteit, vanwege de uitstekende fotografie en print techniek: de insecten lijken haast wel te leven.



Zoals zij zelf zeggen:
” De art prints roepen visioenen op van oude zeefdrukken met natuur motieven. Het zoemt van de nostalgie en poëzie. Tegelijkertijd stralen de foto’s innovatie uit en zijn ze super moderne vanwege hun grafische eenvoud en illustratieve scherpte. De Kunstposters staan goed in moderne woningen, en daar waar design met klassiekers en doorleefde vintage artefacts worden gecombineerd. Daarnaast passen ze, eenvoudig met een punaise in elke hoek op de muur bevestigd, ook perfect in de slaapkamer van de kinderen.”


Wat ik zo mooi vind is dat ze kleur en karakter aan een interieur toevoegen.
Je kunt er eindeloos naar kijken en steeds iets nieuws in zien.
En: Ook als je niet goed zo met planten bent, kun je zo toch wat groen aan je huis toevoegen! 

Mijn persoonlijke favorieten zijn:  

De glimmende groene kever, het fascinerende blad-insect en de “A Collection”:
een serie van twee prints van abstracte cactusvormen op aquarelpapier.

This weekend you can get a preview of Ikea’s newest limited Street Art Poster collection at the IKEA pop-up store Utrechtsestraat 105 in Amsterdam.

12 Street Artists worked closely with Ikea for this limited selection of real Street Art posters. Last thursday I went to see the collection myself at a press preview and I must say: the posters and artworks are beautiful and of a very high quality! Ikea made sure the right colours, paper and glossiness is used to make the Art looking this good.

‘Home is where the art is’

IKEA thinks that art belongs at your home.
I do too.

 

The posters are available at ikea from April on, but also this weekend at the pop-up store.
They also made a perfect paper with all the back ground information about the artists.

Dit weekend kun je een voorproefje van de nieuwste limited serie Street Art Posters van Ikea zien en kopen bij de IKEA pop-up store Utrechtsestraat 105 in Amsterdam.

 

12 Street Artists werkte nauw samen met Ikea voor deze beperkte selectie van Street Art posters. Afgelopen donderdag ging ik naar de pers preview, en ik moet zeggen: de affiches van de kunstwerken zijn super mooi en van een zeer hoge kwaliteit! Ikea zorgde ervoor dat de juiste kleuren, papier en glans wordt gebruikt om de kunstwerken zo te maken dat ze echt prachtig er uit zien.

 

‘Thuis is waar de kunst’

IKEA denkt dat kunst bij jou thuis hoort.

Ik ook.

 

De posters zijn verkrijgbaar bij IKEA vanaf april op, maar dus ook al dit weekend op de pop-up store.

Ze maakten ook een perfecte krant met alle achtergrond informatie over de kunstenaars.
