Cabinets + Tech

Last January I was invited by the NKBA Global Connect program to visit visited the Living Kitchen show that is biannual with IMM Cologne, the interior and furniture design fair held in Cologne. I finally found the time to write these 2 posts. For part 1 see over here.

Besides the material and color trend, I wrote about in blogpost part 1, I also spotted a few interesting kitchen cabinets and tech trends that I’ll show you below.

As said: The fair was very crowdy, so I apologize upfront for the not always so beautiful pictures taken with my “old” iPhone, but nevertheless, I definitely wanted to share these insights I spotted at the show with you.

I’ve made 2 posts out of it since there was so much to share. Here is part 2!

Keuken trends gespot tijdens

Living Kitchen Keulen | Imm Keulen 2019

Deel 1 Materiaal + Kleur

Imperfecte, handgemaakte styling in aardse kleuren

Grijze marmeren werkbladen, witte gootstenen, witte getextureerde tegels

If you have the opportunity to visit Object Rotterdam this weekend: Please do! Luckily I was able to join the opening and took some pictures of the stunning work in its beautiful surrounding. Anne van der Zwaag director and curator of Object Rotterdam, handpicked the designers herself. She told us she visited the Design and Fashion academies to select a group of young, new and upcoming design students and combines their work with smaller interior, design, art, fashion, architectural brands. This combination of disciplines is what makes Object Rotterdam so unique.

This year the location is in the old HAKA building, that a few weeks before the opening didn’t even had electricity. Now, this casco building is the perfect blank canvas for the designers. And there even is a pop-up restaurant with delicious food and drinks.

Again, if you have the time, just go. You’ll love it.

I share some iPhone snapshots with you. More info at Object Rotterdam

Enjoy!

Design Walhalla

Object Rotterdam 2018

Moebe shelving system | Minimal Scandinavian Design | Imm Cologne 2018

Last week I went to IMM Cologne, the Furniture and Design fair in Koln. Desiree of Vosgesparis showed us around on a New Scandinavian Tour. We came by this small Scandinavian Design brand Moebe. First, they mainly designed interior accessories, like the beautiful minimal frames and candle light holders.

But now they introduced a new minimal shelving system and I fell in love with it! It’s so basic and minimal but with such a great design! You can adjust the heights of the shelves with the use of wedges. No screws needed! Also, you can extend the system in width and height for total freedom in design.

Besides the shelving system, Moebe also introduced a new mirror and coat rack. By the way, I love their organizing system too.

Thanks to both Vosgesparis and Spierenburg studio for the inspiring tour.

Enjoy!

Moebe

Geniet!
