A while ago I moved my blog from Blogger to WordPress. And since I’m blogging from 2007, there are a lot of blogposts to check… So if you see a blogpost that’s missing photo’s or has a weird layout, please let me know by leaving a comment at that particular blogpost. In the meantime I’m walking through all my posts myself too.

Ik heb mijn blog van Blogger naar WordPress verhuisd! En aangezien ik sinds 2007 blog, zijn er een heleboel blogposts te controleren … Dus: zie je een blogpost waarbij foto’s ontbreken of die een rare lay-out heeft, laat het me weten dmv het plaatsen van een reactie op die blogpost. In de tussentijd loop ik al mijn berichten zelf ook nog na.

FEST Amsterdam just opened a new shop in Amsterdam and also introduces some new furniture designs in cooperation with Dutch designer Gijs Papavoine. Gijs Papavoine has many designs classics on this name. Also now Fest Amsterdam works with one the best fabric brands in the world: Kvadrat. What a good news! Owner Femke Furnée has created a collection that is not only beautiful but also timeless, comfortable and sustainable.
The new sofa line by Gijs Papavoine will be available in May.

Nieuww shop + meubel lijn

FEST Amsterdam heeft net een nieuwe winkel in Amsterdam geopend en er worden binnenkort ook een aantal nieuwe meubel ontwerpen in samenwerking met de Nederlandse ontwerper Gijs Papavoine gelanceerd. Gijs Papavoine heeft vele ontwerp klassiekers op zijn naam staan.
Daarnaast werkt Fest Amsterdam ook met een van de beste stof merken in de wereld samen: Kvadrat. Wat een goed nieuws! Eigenaar Femke Furnée heeft een collectie samengesteld, die is niet alleen mooi maar ook tijdloos, comfortabel en duurzaam is.
De nieuwe meubellijn door Gijs Papavoine zal beschikbaar zijn vanaf mei. Je kunt de nieuwe Fest Amsterdam shop bezoeken aan de Van Woustraat 111 in Amsterdam.

It was such a great announcement at the Meet The Blogger event last October that Bolia was opening a shop in Amsterdam in December 2015. And now is the time: Bolia has actually opened the shop at the Utrechtsestraat 78 Amsterdam.
I was one of the lucky bloggers who was invited to the opening party and get a preview of the shop. And it was great! The shop is divided over 2 levels and styled as if you can just move in. They created several corners where you can see, test and try the furniture and interior accessories.
By creating all these corners, you get a good feeling on how the furniture actually would look inside your home.
Bolia is a Danish brand that has shops in over 30 countries and also sells online. They have a great collection with modern Scandinavian design and work with several designers.
I visited a Bolia shop once when I was in Stockholm and brought one of their inspiration books with me. I still use it a lot and I’m happy that there is a shop right here in Amsterdam now.
I took some pictures during the opening party, which was a challenge! It was crowded with people, but I still got some good pictures to give you an idea.
Het was een grootse aankondiging tijdens het Meet The Blogger event afgelopen oktober: Bolia gaat in december 2015 een winkel openen in Amsterdam! En nu is het zover: Bolia opende afgelopen week de deuren van de winkel aan de Utrechtsestraat 78 Amsterdam.
Ik was één van de lucky bloggers die was uitgenodigd voor de openings party. We kregen een exclusief en feestelijk voorproefje van de shop. En het was geweldig! De winkel is verdeeld over 2 verdiepingen en gestyled alsof je er zo kunt intrekken. Ze creëerden diverse hoekjes waar je alle meubelen en interieur accessoires kunt zien, testen en uitproberen.
Door het creëren van al deze hoekjes krijg je een goed beeld en gevoel hoe de meubels daadwerkelijk bij je thuis zouden staan.
Bolia is een Deens merk dat winkels heeft in meer dan 30 landen en ze verkopen ook online. Ze hebben een zeer grote collectie met een modern Scandinavisch design en werken met verschillende ontwerpers.
Toen ik een paar jaar geleden Stockholm was, liep ik bij toeval een Bolia winkel binnen en vindt het toen gelijk zo mooi dat ik een van hun inspiratie boeken mee naar huis nam. Ik gebruik het nog steeds en ik ben blij dat er nu ook een winkel hier in Amsterdam is.
Ik heb foto’s genomen tijdens de opening party, wat best een uitdaging was! Het was natuurlijk vol met mensen, maar ik heb toch nog een aantal goede foto’s om je een idee van de winkel te geven.

Luxury you can find and define in many ways. It doesn’t always have to be expensive. As Luxury also is in craftsmanship, special moments, or spending time with friends.
But if you are looking for Luxurious interior design and materials, like Onix, Brass, silk, copper, mohair, pallisander, silver and so on, Co Luxury is the place to be. You can explore the novelties of luxury brands for interior like: Flexform, Maxalto, Promemoria, Giorgetti, Laurameroni, Ghyczy and Vonder, lighting fixtures by Porta Romana, CTO, Delta, Bert Frank and fabrics from Dedar, Jacaranda, And…: Couture and fashion house Hermès.
I’m definitely going to visit the showroom. I’m curious what they made of this new concept. As you know I’m more of a minimalist and would never overload an interior with lots of unnecessary items, but I do love good and fine materials, art and craftsmanship and also believe in buying items that last long and stay with you for a long time. So picking a luxury item that you really enjoy can fit a minimalist too.

Luxe kun je op vele manieren vinden en definiëren. Het hoeft niet altijd duur te zijn. Zo zit luxe ook in vakmanschap, speciale momenten, of tijd doorbrengen met vrienden.
Maar als je op zoek bent naar luxe interieurs en materialen, zoals Onix, messing, zijde, koper, mohair, pallisander, zilver en ga zo maar door, dan is Co Luxury de place to be. Je kunt er de laatste nieuwigheden van luxe interieur merken zien zoals van: Flexform, Maxalto, Promemoria, Giorgetti, Laurameroni, Ghyczy en Vonder, verlichtingsarmaturen van oa Porta Romana, CTO, Delta, Bert Frank en stoffen van Dedar, Jacaranda of zelfs van Couture en mode huis Hermès.
Ik ben zeker van plan om een kijkje te gaan nemen. Ik ben benieuwd wat ze gemaakt hebben van dit nieuwe concept. Zoals je weet dat ik ben meer van een minimalistisch interieur en zou nooit een interieur overladen met veel onnodige items, maar ik hou wel van goede en mooie materialen, kunst en vakmanschap en geloof ook in het kopen van producten die lang meegaan en voor een lange tijd bij je blijven. Dus het kiezen van een luxe-item waarvan je echt kunt genieten is zeker ook een minimalistische mogelijk!
On my way to Milan design week 2015 last April, I stayed at the CitizenM design hotel at Schiphol airport Amsterdam. I had to jump on the plane very early and had a busy day ahead of me in Milan and this was a welcome start of my trip.
This design hotel is situated directly in front of the airport, a 2-minute walk, so I could leave as late as possible to catch my plane. One of the other reasons why I love this hotel is that the hotel lobby is such a nice place when traveling alone. I don’t like to be stuck at my hotel room and this place and the staff make me feel so relaxed and welcome.
The hotel lounge has lot of cosy corners where your can relax or watch some tv, read or chat with your travel mate. It is furnished with the beautiful design icons by Vitra. There’s lots to see too: in the open cupboards there are showcased the most exquisite, stylish home deco objects and accessories as an collection of curiosities. So no time to be bored.. If you like there are several Imac’s available to work on too. So, CitizenM and I did it again…. And I’m sure we will be doing it for al long time in the future too…
