You probably have heard it already: The collaboration between Piet Boon and Linteloo. Linteloo now covers the production, sales and distribution of the Piet Boon Collection, but Piet Boon will continue to do the designing and development at his studio. During the Salone del Mobile 2014 they presented both collections in a wonderful location at Via Tortona.
What surprised me was the colorful presentation. Piet Boon is well known for his neutral and calm color palette, but this time it was very vivid! The settings were mostly in greens with almost yellowish greens, or grays with dusky pink, in daring, but not too bold combinations. I liked it a lot! And the fine fabrics like velvets and smooth leathers…A very comfortable feeling :-)

Je hebt waarschijnlijk al wel gehoord: De samenwerking tussen Piet Boon en Linteloo. 
Linteloo regelt nu de productie, verkoop en distributie van de Piet Boon collectie, maar Piet Boon  studio zal zelf de ontwerpen en ontwikkelen van de collectie blijven doen. Tijdens de Salone del Mobile 2014 waren beide collecties te zien op een prachtige locatie aan de Via Tortona. 


Wat me aangenaam verraste was de kleurrijke presentatie. Piet Boon staat bekend om zijn neutrale en rustige kleurenpalet, maar deze keer was het erg levendig! De settings waren vooral in groentinten met bijna geelachtig groen of in grijs met oudroze. Gedurfde, maar niet te pittige combinaties. Ik vond het erg mooi! En de fijne stoffen zoals fluweel en soepele leersoorten … Die geven het geheel een super comfortabel gevoel :-)

Textile!! 
You can’t do without it in your interior. 
I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the exhibition of the Danskina rugs in Milan. 
It was such a warm and colorful ambience, but still contemporary, although you can definitely can see the vintage influences. 
I love the texture of textile and the fact that rugs, carpets, 
but also cushions and curtains can make a house feel like a home.
It gives the interior a personal touch and if you dare, a color splash.
Danskina has a big variety of carpets 
with different, extraordinary textures and colors.
Also they work with great designers like Ulf Moritz, Hella Jongerious and Karin An Rijlaarsdam.

Textiel! 
Je kunt niet zonder in je interieur. 
Ik was erg verrast toen ik de stand van de Danskina carpetten op de beurs in Milaan zag. 
Het was een warm en kleurrijk gevoel, eigentijds, met toch behoorlijk wat vintage invloeden. 

Ik hou van de textuur van textiel en het feit dat tapijten,
maar ook kussens en gordijnen er voor zorgen dat je van een huis je thuis kunt maken. 
Het geeft het interieur een persoonlijk tintje en als je durft, een kleur impuls. 

Danskina heeft een grote collectie kleden met veel verschillende, bijzondere texturen en kleuren Plus ze werken met 
grote ontwerpers zoals Ulf Moritz, Hella Jongerious en Karin An Rijlaarsdam.

I’m going to New York on the blogtour with Modenus  ICFF  | Wanded Design

I’m so happy!! 
I’m invited to go on the blogtour to New York City 
with Modenus for five days to visit the NY Design Week 
with Wanted Design, ICFF and lot’s of design events in the city!
In only 2 weeks from now, from 15 until 20 May,
I’ll meet some fantastic people, the sponsors of the tour, be in my favorite town and see some amazing new design…. What can be more beautiful and perfect than this??  
I just had to pinch myself when I got the news  
and I’m still jumping up and down when I think about it.
This is a dream come true!

New York blogtour met Modenus  ICFF + Wanded Design



Wow, ik ben zo blij!!! 
Ik ben door Modenus uitgenodigd om 5 dagen mee op blogtour te gaan naar de designweek in New York en ICFF en Wanted design!


Van 15 to 20 mei ga ik een groepje fantastische mensen en de sponsors van deze tour ontmoeten, heel veel design zien en verblijf ik in mijn favoriete stad….. helemaal perfect toch?
Ik moest mezelf echt een paar keer in de arm knijpen om het te bevatten en spring nog steeds een gat in de lucht als ik er aan denk…
Er kom een hele grote droom van mij uit !


Natuurlijk ga ik over deze tour schrijven op mijn blog, op Facebook en deel ik alles op Pinterest, en via de site van Modenus NYC Blogtour.

What Design Can Do | WDCD 2014 Amsterdam.

Only a few days before the two day event 
What Design Can Do 2014 starts on 8 and 9 may!

I’m so looking forward to this!
Last year I joined for one day, this time I’ll try to be there for the two full days.
The event is all about how design and designers can “give back” to the world, by being conscious about what and how they design. To make the life of the people better, and how designers can contribute keeping this planet alive or even improve our world.
I think this development in the designers world is a good thing. I think that if you start at the very beginning of the designing process with one of the goals in your mind that whatever you design, it has to be not only about the form, beauty, color, shape or making profit, but also about what you can contribute to the wellbeing of this planet, you as a designer are doing much more than “just” designing.
The world needs people who think like this.
There are still tickets available 
So if you want to see and hear for yourself what design can do for you or your company, go get a WDCD ticket over here . Also for students it’s a very interesting event and you can get a special WDCD student discount ticket !!
There is a list of great speakers like fashion designer Paul Smith, a bunch of inspiring films, meet and greets and even a big party. For more information take a look at the website and take some time to plan your day. There’s so much to see, you better go prepared:-)

Nog een paar dagen en dan start het twee dagen durende event

WDCD | What Design Can Do !

op 8 en 9 mei
Ik kijk er erg naar uit.  Vorig jaar ben ik er een dag geweest en deze keer zal ik proberen om er alle twee de dagen bij te zijn. Het evenement  gaat  over hoe design en ontwerpers “terug kunnen geven” aan de wereld , door zich bewust  te zijn van wat en hoe ze ontwerpen. Om het leven van de mensen beter te maken en hoe ontwerpers kunnen bijdragen aan het behouden deze planeet en alles dat er op leeft of zelfs het verbeteren van onze wereld.


Ik ben erg voor deze ontwikkeling in de ontwerpers wereld. Ik denk dat als je aan het begin van het ontwerpproces al start met als een van de doelen in je achterhoofd dat wat je ontwerpt, niet alleen over de vorm, schoonheid, kleur, vorm of het maken van commerciële producten en winst moet gaan, maar ook over wat je kunt bijdragen aan het welzijn van deze planeet, dan ben je als ontwerper veel meer dan “alleen maar” aan het ontwerpen. De wereld heeft behoefte aan mensen die zo denken.


En er zijn nog kaarten beschikbaar!

A while ago I’ve written a blog about the city Arnhem for Vosgesparis. You can read it here. I live nearby Arnhem and visit the city often. Since it isn’t such a well known city to go to for shopping, I really wanted to share it with you here on my blog too. It’s definitely worth to visit the city if you love fashion. Een tijdje geleden heb ik een blogpost over Arnhem geschreven op de blog van VosgesParis. Je kunt het hier lezen. Ik woon vlak bij Arnhem en ga er vaak naar toe. En omdat het niet zo’n bekende “winkelstad” is, wil ik de blogpost ook nog hier delen, want het is echt een super leuke stad om te gaan shoppen. Zeker als je een mode liefhebber bent. Er is zelfs een Mode Hotel “Modez” !
